Rilo is 100% obsessed with graham crackers. They will instantly make her happy if she is sad. Unfortunately she also recently decided to eat them as messily as possible!
She has also started holding things up to her ear and talking, like a cell phone.
And Rilo is officially 10 months today!!! We will be taking 10 month photos this afternoon. I can't believe she is this close to 1!

Rilo's First Food: Avocado
A few days ago, we introduced Rilo to her first solid food. We chose avocado. Avocado is great because it doesn't need to be prepared, is rich in nutrients and has an interesting texture. She had a blast playing with it. And when she finally got it in her mouth, well, you'll see her reaction.
Rilo loves taking drinks from cups, water bottles and sippy cups. She holds it with her two hands and lifts it to take a sip. Very cute.
And here she goes with the avocado. We are doing Baby Led Weaning, which essentially means she is running the show. She gets to feed herself and explore the new world of food. I really like it because I really believe kids learn best when they explore on their own (with supervision of course).
It's gotten better each time we've fed her! Next up, green beans and sweet potato!

I Heart Faces-Photojournalism
I've been meaning to enter the I Heart Faces challenges each week, but have forgotten or put it off. Here's how it works. Each week they have a different theme. You submit your photo and then a judge will go through and pick their favorites. I like having a theme to work around when taking photos.
This weeks theme is photojournalism....using photos to tell a story. I think these photos definitely fit! I will be posting more of these photos tomorrow, but here is a sneak peek of Rilo Jane eating her first food!

ETA: Sorry, if you're on a laptop, this might cut off slightly...but it just looks so good on the big screen, I can't bear to make it smaller!
